Vintage knitting pattern for a child’s cable cardigan with a V-neck, button fastening, long sleeves, ribbed trims and inset pockets. Suitable for boys or girls.
Pattern details:

Chest sizes: 24–25, 26–27, 28–29, 30–31 and 32–33 inches (61–83½ cm).

Finished lengths: 15, 16½, 18, 19½ and 21 inches.

Yarn: Keynote Shetland Wool Double Knitting, 50 g balls.

Yarn quantities: 5, 5, 6, 6 and 6 balls respectively.

Needles: 3¼ mm and 4 mm (old UK sizes 10 and 8).

Extras: Two stitch holders, a cable needle and 4–6 buttons, depending on size.

Tension: 20 stitches and 30 rows to 10 cm in stocking stitch using 4 mm needles.
